The Lake County Board of County Commissioners hosted its annual State of the County presentation on Oct. 14 in the Board Chambers of the Lake County Administration Building. County Commission Chairman Welton Cadwell outlined the successes of Lake County Government during the 2007-2008 fiscal year.
A tradition since 1994, the State of the County presentation is an opportunity for the Board of County Commissioners to share the highlights and achievements of Lake County Government from the past fiscal year. In addition, the annual report presented at the State of the County event provides the citizens of Lake County a detailed report that reflects the Board’s accomplishments and priorities.
The theme for the 2008 State of the County presentation and Annual Report is “Walking a Green Path.” Lake County, the heartland of Central Florida is recognized by its vibrant, hometown communities and its enthusisasm to take a stand for the environment. Lake County continues to unveil aggressive and unique programs with the purpose of improving and protecting its natural surroundings. From its Adopt-a-Lake Program to its Green Building Ordinance, Lake County Government is on the cutting edge of identifying and implementing effective green solutions. The road to sustainability is long and not without challenges; but “Walking A Green Path” is what living, working and visiting Lake County is all about.
